Good skin care isn’t just about protecting exposed areas of skin from the damaging effects of the sun. It is about keeping the largest organ in your body, your skin, healthy for life. Male or female, young or old there is a skin care system that will work with both your skin type and your lifestyle.
A good skin care regimen doesn’t need to be complicated, time consuming or cost a fortune to keep up. Keeping your skin looking good need take no longer than five minutes twice a day, morning and evening. The younger a person is when they start a skin care system, the better the skin will adapt to the aging process with less chance of the skin aging prematurely and developing deep lines and wrinkles.
Make it Routine!
In developing your skin care routine it may take a bit of trial and error to find the products that are right for your skin, and we’re not just talking about soap and water. Regular soap should not be used to wash the face as it is very drying and is certainly not the best choice in skin care for sensitive skin. Soap can lead to skin irritation and flaking.
It is best to choose a moisturizing cleanser for the face which will clean the pores and eliminate excess oils without stripping moisture from the skin. Try not to rub the face too harshly with a face cloth either as you may find you are aggravating existing areas of dryness, causing more skin to flake or further stimulating the production of oils in areas prone to greasiness, especially around the nose. Pat the face dry with a soft clean towel, never rub. Once the skin is completely dry, moisturize with a day cream in the morning and if possible a specially developed night cream of an evening after cleansing, and before bed. Night creams provide an extra level of moisturizing skin care throughout the night, assisting in the recovery of the skin layers.
Take Care of Your Skin And You Will Be Rewarded
Good skin care doesn’t need to be expensive, once you find products that suit your skin type, stick with them and buy the best skin care products that you can afford. The best doesn’t necessarily mean the most expensive it means the best for your skin. Opt for a cleanser, and either a day and night moisturizer or dual purpose product. Remember to take off all cosmetics before going to bed, it may feel like a chore but your face will thank you for it. Just the process of removing your make up at the end of the day can make you feel lighter as you are also removing the stresses and cares the day brought with it.
